The PGA Champions Tour is coming to TPC Twin Cities! The 2010 3M Championship will take place Friday, August 6th through Sunday, August 8th. Last year, the 3M Championship was awarded the President’s Award for best tournament on the Champions tour!
The Champions Tour is a golf organization of professional golfers, ages 50 and older. Many golf legends still actively play on the tour. The Champions Tour's purpose is to provide a competitive environment and an earnings opportunity for players, while protecting the integrity of the game.
The 3M Championship is more than just a golf tournament. It is a fundraising effort for many charities around the Twin Cities. This year the golf tournament will benefit emergency care programs at Allina's United Hospital, Mercy Hospital and Unity Hospital. The tournament has donated over $14 million to charity since 1993. The TPC Twin Cities was designed by professional golfer and course designer, Arnold Palmer. Located in the Blaine, the Twin Cities course is the 20th TPC course to be built.

9:00 AM Registration at Pizza Pub in Pine City. 10:00 AM Departure. The ride this year will go up around the Sturgeon Lake/Askov area. We will arrive back at Pizza Pub around 4:00 PM. We do best poker hand so we draw cards at Pizza Pub and do three stops on the trip and then another card when we return to the Pizza Pub. The $25.00 registration fee includes coffee and donuts and a t-shirt at check-in, lunch at one of the stops and pizza at the Pizza Pub after the ride.

Maple Grove Food Packing Event (Charity)

Location: Maple Grove Community Center

The event is a community wide effort to raise $54,000 to package 285,000 meals to send to Haiti. We also need about 1000 volunteers on Sunday August 29 to package the food. Last year the community came together to raise over $50,000 to send 285,000 meals to the Mathare Valley Slum in Nairobi Kenya.
